Teaching Projects

The Engegård Quartet is deeply involved in two annual educational projects; reaching out both to children and teenagers, and to adult musicians. They have given Masterclasses both at home for Oslo Quartet Series, and abroad, from composers’ workshops in Oxford University in England, to Masterclasses in Bogotá and Medellín in Colombia.

Quartet Seminar

Together with Oslo Quartet Association, the Engegård Quartet hosts a long weekend of teaching and concerts every November. Set in a beautiful location in central Oslo, Uranienborg Parish House, amateur, semi-professional and professional musicians devote themselves to working on the string quartet and other chamber music repertoire. The weekend is open both to ready-formed ensembles, and to individuals who are searching for like-minded chamber musicians. The schedule includes coaching sessions with the members of the Engegård Quartet, rehearsal time, and internal concerts. We pride ourselves on a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, while devoting ourselves to the repertoire we love so much.

The next generation in our “På 123” festival

The Engegård Quartet’s annual festival weekend, “På 123”, includes a major focus on up-and-coming musicians. The classical minifestival “På 123”  focuses on one composer over a long weekend. Together with Nordberg String Orchestra and other young talents, the Engegård Quartet chooses students and repertoire each Spring, then teaches and inspires the students during the Autumn, preparing them for performances during the festival in November.
