The Engegård Quartet plays Mendelssohn!

The Engegård Quartet invites you to hear two string quartets by the siblings Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn. Felix Mendelssohn's String Quartet No. 4 in E minor, Opus 44 No. 2, and Fanny Mendelssohn's String Quartet in E flat major. It has been said that Felix Mendelssohn is the Mozart of the Romantic period. This is due as much to his endless urge to write beautiful melodies as to the obvious genius of his early works. But Fanny Mendelssohn was also a great talent. At the age of just fourteen, she could play all 24 preludes from Bach's Well-Tempered Clavier by heart.

The Engegård Quartet is immersing itself in Mendelssohn ahead of the festival "Mendelssohn at 123", 8-10 November at Nynorskens hus.

Here's a taste, completely free!
